What Do You Think Fayetteville? Posted by Higher Order Language WORKS on May 5, 2009 at 8:40pm
Is this blatant discrimination in Fayetteville or old-fashion prejudice in Fayetteville?
I Have Been Banned From the Fayetteville NC Area Music Scene Website? http://fayettevillencmusicscene.ning.com/main/index/banned
Yep, that is what it says right there on log in screen to the new Fayetteville NC Area Music Scene website when I try to log in. I set up a profile page there about three weeks ago - it is gone! I haven't been on there until this attempt a moment ago.
Surprise! I am banned. Here is what the log-in screen says:
"You have been banned from Fayetteville NC Area Music Scene Sorry, Holworks Music, you can not access Fayetteville NC Area Music Scene as you have been banned. If you think you've been banned in error, you can contact the administrator." http://fayettevillencmusicscene.ning.com/main/index/banned
Should I appeal to the Administrator for this grievous error? I mean, after all I have nothing but original songs that some people like to offer in terms of music. I am a featured artist on 910 Street. I grew up in Fayetteville, went to school here, and spent most of my life in this area developing stories about the People, Places, and Events of growing up in Carolina Commons. I played the Dogwood Festival in 1991 on the Fun For You Stage with my friends from Swift Water, a band I was in at the time and have completed Open Mics in almost every location that has one. I still have pictures.
DISCLAIMER - The Fayetteville NC Area Music Scene website though appears to be for all musicians in Fayetteville is not open to all Fayetteville musicians Mark. It is a PRIVATE website. You must have permission from one person to be included on the Fayetteville NC Area Music Scene to join or be invited to join. You cannot be on it because you are not part of the Fayetteville NC Area Music Scene list of musicians. . . .sign says, . . .
What is it that I have done other than to write, play, and perform in FAYETTEVILLE my own songs? The lyrics are wholesome, not a foul word in any of my songs, . . .the music though simple and sequenced is still music regardless - so what is it that would cause me to be banned?
Oh boy - The saga continues. . . I am a Featured Music Artist on this site yet I have been banned from the Fayetteville NC Area Music Scene website.
Is that open visible prejudice or colloquial discrimination?

I HATE DISCRIMATON OF ANY KIND AND THIS IS BLATANT DISCRIMATION OF HOLWORKS AND MARK HOLMAN AND I THINK WHO EVER IS DOING THIS SHOULD BE REPLACED DUE TO COMPETE STUPIDITY AND SOMEONE WITH MUSIC SENSE SHOULD REPLACE HER IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD TODAY SMALL MINDED PEOPLE WHO THINK THEY CAN DECIDE WHAT THE PUBLIC WANTS AND FOR NO REASON AT ALL BAN SOMEONE FROM THIS SITE. I REALIZE THERE IS NO CURE FOR STUPID SO REPLACING HER IS THE ONLY CORRECT SOLUTION, I HOPE THIS IS DONE VERY QUICKLY SO WE CAN ENJOY THE WONDERFUL MUSIC OF NORTH CAROLINA AGAIN. THE NEW SONGS ARE BETTER AND BETTER. HE WILL MAKE IT WITH OR WITHOUT YOU THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM THE PROBLEM IS BLANTANT DISCRIMATION. HELEN GARRELS

There is more to this story that I would like to share about this scenario because the person running the Fayetteville Music website is the reason I left the Cape Fear Songwriter's Guild (Great Concept). I wanted to engage in learning songwriting in an open group format. I am the perfect person to be in a group like that because I am always prepared, share ideas, and have a profound ability to learn very quickly.
When I was not mentioned in the Public performances in the Cape Fear Songwriter's Guild October and December that I participated in, well I realized that hating was going on - I just did not realize how deep it was until yesterday. Now I know and I think everyone who is a musician or who appreciates music should know what is going on in the Fayetteville Music Scene. Banning me from what should be a Public website, since it is marketed that way, really portrays the open visible hate directed at me that many should be aware of because maybe YOU are next?
Do you like flagrant discrimination? You will smile at this one if you do.
Do you agree with open prejudice? You will laugh when you read this.
Does HATE rule your life? You are doomed to be bereft of life wandering aimlessly in your thoughts.
Why would this incident occur? That's a 64,000 dollar question - jealousy, fear, small mindedness?
About me
I will always stand up for my music and my brand Higher Order Language Works. I do not associate with people who think they hold the keys to the kingdom when in fact they do not, nor will I tolerate incorrect "facts" about me and what I am accomplishing in music. So regardless if I am on the FMS website or not matters not at all.
What does matter is that everyone needs to know what sort of person you will encounter. Expect to be discriminated against as the prejudice obviously runs extremely deep or maybe not. Maybe it is just me that absorbs the brunt of this fallacy.
In closing, I would like to say that good will come out of this - sort of like dragging a vampire kicking and screaming out of the darkenss into the sunlight to meet a fiery demise - just be aware of the shadows as there may be more waiting there you missed - No doubt.
Now everyone knows who cares to know what you are up to, don't they?
Have a nice day.

I think he's not sure who he is at this point. He bit the wrong dog in his rambling feverish dumbass attack. It may take another 49 years before he knows what is relevent.
