NU2 Is Breaking Up!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sort of taking the day off!! I really want to get to the pub tonight so I plan on resting most of the day.
I remember telling you guys some time back about a great U2 tribute band in Scotland - NU2. Well, today I had an email from The Egg, a member of the band, saying that they will only be doing one more show. Seems that his job is taking him to southern England so the band will be breaking up.
I ran across them a few years back while doing research for Paddy & Bill's website and have kept up with them since. I knew that my chances of getting to a show were slim to none but I could at least listen to their audio clips and also keep up with them on the web. Oh well, Guess that is the breaks. If you have not yet heard them go over to the NU2 website, click on Sound & Video and take a listen. Egg said the forum will run for a bit but he did not mention the site so it may, or may not, go away.
I am still trying to get everything on my new system. I keep running across stuff that I had forgotten about and get sidetracked. Yesterday I ran across the photos from Paddy's last trip to Dublin so I edited them and got them on Paddy's site. This morning I ran across the photos from Paddy's pool party a few weeks back so they are now on the site too. At least I am catching up with some of the 'old stuff'.
Think I will go back upstairs and crawl into bed. The upstairs phone is turned off so I will not be bothered!!!!! Sort of need to do that every now and again.

Tired!! Tired!! Tired!!
I am really tired! I am trying to do everything at one time and it is really a job.
My new system is now up and running. Working with two large monitors is fantastic.......like a dream come true. I can now slide photos from one screen to the other which cuts my editing time way over half! I can't wait to get all my projects done so that I will have time to just play with this thing. It has a Quad 4 processor.....whatever that means. I just know that Curtis said that it is the fastest thing on the market so I will just believe him on that.
I also ordered my flooring. Now that is what is really taking lots and lots of work. The installers will move everything EXCEPT for the two big china closets (they will move the furniture but I have to empty it out first) and my new system. Curtis is coming over the day they install the office to take care of the system so I do not have to worry about that. Now moving all those dishes is another thing. Remember I have enough crystal etc to throw a party for a hundred+ people!! The other cabinet holds over 50 place settings of china plus all the serving pieces to go along with it. Since I have to take it all out I just as well wash everything before I put it back. That is going to take a while!
Now for the thing that blew my mind and caught me totally off guard. The wood planks have to be in the house for 2-3 days before they can be installed......not the garage, not the front porch but right in here where I am living!!!!! That is going to be interesting. There is a total of 98 cases of wood planks. I am getting rid of lots of furniture BEFORE the floors come in. No sense in having chairs because I will not be able to get to them. Hopefully I will be able to keep a path from my bedroom, down the stairs, through my den, and the kitchen and/or garage. Man, I will be glad when this is over. Poor Faye, she is going to help me get through this and clean up the place later.
I am about ready for my upcoming trip. I will only be away for 5 days because the floors will be installed the week after...........I hope. I have my plane tickets and hotel reservations but still need to reserve a car. I just cannot quite make up my mind what kind of car I want to get. Have to do that before the end of this week.
I am not getting to the gigs very much right now............way too tired!! However I did get Sarah's slideshow updated this morning. I am hoping to get to the pub tonight. We'll see.

Another One Of Them There Days!!
I am so NOT having a good day! The BIGGEST thing is that I LOST the Pub Membership database.............the whole thing, to include supplemental files. Good thing I had made back-up copies last week so I only had to add 30 or so new members.
I am in the process of moving all the data off my internal hard drive so I decided to move the pub stuff over and work from the CD. Well, somehow in the process Microsoft decided that they could not copy the file so they just did God knows what with the file. I surely cannot find it. Even Microsoft cannot find it so guess they did a great job on this one!!!! Oh well, guess that was my learning curve for today.
Curtis was expecting the last shipment of the components for my new system to come in via UPS today. That means he will start building the thing and hopefully get it in my house by the end of the week and no later than the first of next week. He will also be coming out on the days that the flooring and the furniture is intalled to take care of my 'baby'.
The flooring folks came out yesterday and measured the entire house. I should get the results and the estimate for the floor by the end of the week. Then I have to wait three weeks or so for them to install it. As soon as I get a date for the flooring installation I will start the furniture process. Hope I can get that done within a few days after the floor is intalled. Think I will be that lucky.
I got my plane tickets and hotel reservation for my upcoming trip. I did not reserve a car yet but will do that in a day or so. I sent copies of both the plane ticket and hotel reservation to you guys so you know what is going on.
Better get moving. I want to finish up a few things before going to the pub tonight. Cape Fear Songwriters' Guild is presenting a 'Showcase Of Talent' at 8pm and then at 9:30 DL Token will be on stage. That is one GREAT band. Jeremy has really improved a lot over the six years or so that I have know him.

It's Me!!!!!
I am more or less confined to my desk right now. My new computer should be here by Thursday or Friday so I am moving stuff from my hard drive to CDs. I cannot begin to tell you how anxious I am to get the new system. Just imagine, two monitors...........no more switching back and forth when I edit photos!!!! That will definitely save me lots of time.
Had a great weekend. Saturday I sort of rested up (I got over tired on Friday) and then around midnight I ventured over to the pub. DL Token was playing so I got a few shots of them........Take a Look. I also got more shots for At The Pub and a new slideshow - The Staff......Just Another Saturday Night At The Pub.
Melissa got married yesterday so we went over to Paddy's house for a barbecue afterwards. That man had enough food to feed the army. Reminded me of when Mama would cook so much in anticipation of people dropping in right at mealtime. Anyways we had a blast. It was warm enough for folks to enjoy the pool and sitting around on the deck.................until the rain came!!!!
I have been working my butt off lately but I am happy to say that for now I am caught up with all the photos........well not my personal ones. All Paddy's stuff is caught up except for the Membership things and I will finish them today. I only have 10 or so to add so that will not take long at all.
I finally got a chance to start things rolling on my new floors. The installers will be out in a day or so to measure but the floor will not be installed until late May. I finally decided on Pergo Autumn Oak...........almost exactly the same as my kitchen table. I am having every room done with the exception of the bathrooms and utility room. Later I will have the downstairs bathroom and the utility room done in ceramic tile. The upsairs already have tile so they are good to go.
Overall I have four major projects to get done this year. That means with the computer and flooring done I only have two to go. The next thing to get done is get my new office furniture installed. Then the one I dread most of all...........painting. All the wallpaper will be GONE and I hope to have crown molding added to the upstairs areas. Hopefully everything will be finished by the holidays.
Better get a move on. See you next time.

Look Who It Is!!!!
Well, look who it is!!! Have I ever been busy lately!!!!! I think I can now see a light at the end of the tunnel.
I have spent all this week 'babysitting' the HVAC folks. My new system is in place except for the new thermostat. The old one works well but I wanted the climate control one like I had a ways back. I get tired of having to change the thing from heat to air all the time. That has become a year-round thing here. I thought they were going to finish today but not so. Now I have to stay home all day again tomorrow. Staying home is not bad; getting up early is NOT GOOD!!! Such is life.
I am still working on all the year-end stuff for Paddy. Every time I think I am finished something else pops up. I am really very, very glad that I do not own a pub. The paperwork alone is enough to wear a person down. Hopefully it will get easier with time. This is our first year-end thingy so at least we will know what we are doing next year. You think maybe???
Today I spent a bit of time on my website. I had started working on the slideshow thingy and left everything hanging. I tried to get some of that straightened out today. I also added quite a few new photos to the 'Out And About' series.
I will be hitting the road next month for the first time in a while. Hopefully I will have lots of new photos from that trip. It is going to be a whirlwind trip but it only takes me a few minutes to get lots of shots!!! You can bet that I will be loaded down with cameras because this is a very, very important trip.
Time for me to get in my chair and rest a bit. I really want to make it to the pub tonight since I did not get over there last night.
